Probably the simplest way of keeping a record is to enter a weekly (or possibly daily) record of share prices, using extra columns to calculate the moving average. If you decide to record weekly figures, choose a day and stick to it. Don't change the day one week because something has happened.

The choice of day doesn't matter particularly, but Wednesday is often used as it is in the middle of the week and its prices may therefore reflect what has happened in the last week without being too influenced by suspicions abo
